Hi, I'm Nan! I work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds, but many tend to be thoughtful, capable adults and teens who are used to figuring things out, yet find themselves stuck in patterns they can't seem to think their way out of. Maybe you have some ideas as to why you overthink, shut down, people-please, push yourself too hard, or keep ending up in the same relationship dynamics. You've done the reflecting. You know the pattern. But knowing hasn't necessarily changed how you feel or what happens in the moment.
That's often where the work begins — and where EMDR can make the difference. Some experiences live in the body in ways talk therapy alone can't always reach, keeping anxiety and depression locked in place even when you logically know better. EMDR helps process those experiences so change isn't just something you understand — it's something you can actually feel.
I'm especially attuned to supporting high-functioning adults who may be holding a lot together, often very well, yet underneath are dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, or a sense that the life they've built doesn't quite fit anymore. I also work with parents trying to get it right — navigating anxiety, guilt, overwhelm, and family-of-origin patterns — and with teens who are struggling underneath anxiety, perfectionism, school avoidance, or the pressure of expectations.
My style is warm, curious, and practical. I'm not a therapist who will only sit back and nod. We'll dive into your history to understand how you got here, but we'll also pay attention to what is happening in your life now and what you actually want to change. EMDR is central to how I work — not just for single-incident trauma, but for the anxiety and depression that take root when painful experiences stay unprocessed. In sessions, this might look like identifying a specific memory or belief connected to your anxiety or depression, and using EMDR's reprocessing to shift the emotional charge attached to it, alongside strategies to support your day-to-day life.

More About Me

Therapy is my second career. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in strategy consulting and economic policy, and I spent much of my adult life living in different countries and cultures.
Those experiences — including eventually becoming a parent — shaped how I see people. I'm interested in the intersection of our individual experiences with family, culture, ambition, relationships, and the expectations we inherit about who we're supposed to be.
